AFTER SCHOOL · After-school clubs

Give “what if?” somewhere to go.

For the child who wants to know how things work—and then wants to change them. Our maker clubs give that curiosity a place to grow through coding, circuits and projects worth coming back to.

01 / THE EXPERIENCE

Something to look forward to after the bell.

Some ideas need a little more time. A club is a place to keep working on a project, ask one more question and try the version that didn’t quite work the first time.

Learners explore coding and robotics through making. The starting point depends on their age and experience: playful Scratch activities for younger children, then circuits, sensors and moving parts as their understanding grows.

There is room for individual ideas and shared problem-solving. The moment that matters might be a finished build—or simply a child saying, “I think I know why it stopped working.”

02 / WHAT GROWS ALONG THE WAY

Skills that reach beyond the build.

[01]

Follow an idea

Turn a question into a small project, then explore what could make it more useful or interesting.

[02]

Get comfortable with debugging

Practise checking instructions and connections, changing one thing and seeing what happens.

[03]

Build with others

Listen to another maker, share a task and talk through the choices behind a build.

03 / HOW LEARNING UNFOLDS

Make. Test. Understand.

  1. Pick up the challenge

Start with a new making prompt or revisit a project with a fresh question to investigate.

  2. Make it your own

Write code, explore components and test ideas with guidance suited to the group.

  3. Share the discovery

Show what changed, talk about what was tricky and decide what to try next.

04 / BEFORE YOU GET STARTED

A few useful answers.

Does my child need to know how to code?

They can start with curiosity. Let us know their age and any experience so we can discuss an appropriate starting point instead of assuming they already know the tools.

Where and when do clubs meet?

Clubs take place at schools or learning centres in Accra, outside the school day. Send your area and your child’s age to ask about the available arrangements; a specific venue or timetable is not confirmed here.

Is this suitable for younger children?

Our learning pathway starts at age 5 with stories, sequencing and Scratch. Hardware and text-based programming come later, as activities become more advanced.

What do we need to bring?

Please check laptop and kit requirements with us before joining. We’ll discuss equipment, fees and the club arrangements for your child’s group as part of your enquiry.

LET’S FIND YOUR STARTING POINT

A conversation is a good first step.

Share your child’s age, your area and what has caught their interest. We’ll help you explore whether a club is the right fit.
