Try the tools yourself and connect a coding idea to something you can see or test.
FOR STAFF · Teacher training
You do not need to have every answer before you help a learner ask a good question. Our hands-on workshops give teachers a place to explore coding and robotics, practise the basics and think through how to teach them.
01 / THE EXPERIENCE
Teaching an unfamiliar subject can feel like being expected to know everything at once. A workshop gives you room to ask the basic questions, check a connection twice and see an idea click for yourself.
We work through coding and robotics activities with the classroom in mind. Depending on the learning stage, that can mean exploring Scratch, connecting Arduino components or using Nova to make hardware respond.
Alongside the build, we consider the teaching: how to introduce a challenge, where learners might get stuck and how to help them investigate. The goal is for coding and robotics skills to grow within your school as well as within your learners.
02 / WHAT GROWS ALONG THE WAY
[01]
Try the tools yourself and connect a coding idea to something you can see or test.
[02]
Practise helping learners check their thinking and investigate a problem without taking over the build.
[03]
Consider activities that suit your learners, your staff’s experience and the equipment available.
03 / HOW LEARNING UNFOLDS
Discuss teaching goals and explore the core ideas behind the activity.
Experience the challenge as a learner: make, test, ask questions and troubleshoot.
Discuss how to introduce the activity, support different learners and explain the learning behind it.
04 / BEFORE YOU GET STARTED
Tell us what your team has tried so far. The workshop starting point can be discussed around their experience, including staff who are new to coding and robotics.
Our learning pathway uses Scratch, Arduino, Nova and later C++. The relevant tools for your workshop depend on the year groups you teach and your training goals.
Yes, we offer both programs. Ask us about how instructor-led classes and staff workshops could support your school’s plans together.
Send your school or centre’s name and contact number. Tell us about your staff numbers, goals and available equipment when we discuss the workshop, and ask for the schedule, venue arrangements and fees.
LET’S FIND YOUR STARTING POINT
Tell us about your staff, the year groups they teach and the tools you already have. We’ll discuss a useful starting point for your workshop.
